How I found Grounding
It all started with the documentary The Earthing Movie, which I watched on YouTube. I realised how long I had been disconnected from the earth. I discovered many parallels to my own situation and thought, I will simply give it a try.
I was never the tree-hugging type, and back then I could not go outside at all. As always I thought, if I do this, I will test it properly, so I can report back to others. So I got several products at once: the bed sheet, a wristband, a mousepad and a mat.
Because I was lying on the bed sheet around the clock, I wanted really good quality and not just anything from Amazon. After some research I found Groundology, a small family business from England that has specialised in Grounding for over fifteen years.
To be honest, in the end I only use the bed sheet. I tried the wristband later, it is mainly worth it when you travel. The mousepad did not work for me because the resistance was too strong for the mouse and I lacked the strength in my hand. And the mat simply did not feel good on my skin. If I were to buy something again today, it would probably just be the pillowcase.

Why I use it
A short overview of what I notice in myself. Described honestly, without promises.
- My sleep feels deeper
- My inner restlessness eases
- My thoughts circle less
- It gives me a feeling of stability
Ways to ground yourself
In nature
If possible, barefoot on grass, sand or soil, or into the water, in a lake or the sea.
With a product
Bed sheets, mats, wristbands or shoes, whatever fits into your daily life.
As a fixed routine
What matters is not the method, but that you regularly make time for it.

The connection to the earth, briefly explained
Our body is electrical, every cell and the nervous system too work with electrical signals. In everyday life, rubber soles, carpets and concrete often separate us from the natural connection to the earth.
With Grounding we restore this connection. Through the earth contact of the socket, the earth’s electrons flow into the body, without using any electricity. This can help balance tension, lower stress and calm the nervous system.
